Run the counter. Gundesk keeps the register.
Every acquisition, sale, repair and transfer is written to your dealer register as it happens, and starts its 28-day return to Victoria Police. You see what you owe LRD, and by when, before it's late.
Free for 30 days. Built for licensed firearms dealers in Victoria, around the Firearms Act 1996 and the Firearms Regulations 2018.

From the counter to LRD, in one record
The register entry is the source of truth. Everything else, stock levels, returns, the calendar, is read from it.
Record the acquisition
Type or scan the serial and pick the supplier or customer. Gundesk checks it isn't already on your books, allocates the next stock number and prints the swing tag the law asks you to label it with.
The register entry writes itself
Firearm, category, purpose and the person it came from are copied as at the transaction. Entries are never edited in place: a correction is an amendment that points to the original.
The return clock starts
Each entry carries its 28-day transaction return. The Today screen and the calendar show what's due, what's close and what's late.
Lodge in OLDS, keep the proof
Gundesk lays the details out in the order OLDS asks for them. Record the reference and attach the confirmation, and the return is marked lodged, with who did it and when.
Into possession 4 November, lodged in OLDS 5 November, return due 2 December.

Checks that stop a bad release
A PTA is matched strictly: category, type, action and calibre must all agree. A mismatch is a hard stop, not a warning someone clicks past.
- Licence checked at release
- Not when the permit was lodged. An expired or suspended licence stops the handover on the day.
- Your dealer licence gates categories
- Gundesk won't record a firearm in a category your licence doesn't cover, with the amnesty exception and its own 28-day clock.
- Duplicates caught at the door
- A serial already held in your register is flagged before a second entry is written.
- Kept for five years, and readable
- Entries stay for at least five years, as s 87(5) requires, and print on demand when police inspect.
| Particular | Permit | Firearm | Match |
|---|---|---|---|
| Category | B | B | |
| Type | Rifle | Rifle | |
| Action | Bolt | Bolt | |
| Calibre | .308 Win | 7mm-08 Rem |
Release blocked. The calibre doesn't match the permit, and dealers can't amend a PTA. Attach the right firearm or a new permit.
Made for a busy counter
Counter staff aren't compliance officers. Gundesk asks for what the law needs, in the order the job happens, and nothing else.
- Customers sign on the shop tablet
- Pair a tablet to a premises once. It can only run signing and photo sessions, so a shared device never holds a staff login.
- Find anything from the keyboard
- Press / and type a serial, stock number, licence or name. Common actions sit on the row, not three screens away.
- More than one shop
- Each licensed premises keeps its own register and stock number sequence. Customers are shared, so a regular at either shop is one record.
- The right access for each person
- Owner, manager, compliance, counter staff and read-only roles, with per-premises adjustments.

Questions dealers ask
Does Gundesk lodge returns in OLDS for me?
No. Victoria Police doesn't offer software access to OLDS, so lodging stays with you. Gundesk sets each return out in the order OLDS asks for it, then records the reference, the confirmation, who lodged it and when.
Can we keep our register electronically?
The Firearms Act 1996 sets out what the register must record, that it's kept at the premises away from the firearms, and that police can inspect it (s 87). It doesn't prescribe paper. Gundesk prints the register on demand for an inspection and exports it whenever you want a copy. If you're unsure how this applies to your licence, ask LRD.
What happens when someone makes a mistake in an entry?
They record an amendment. The original stays visible, along with who corrected it, when and why, which is how an inspector expects a register to read.
Where is our data kept?
Scanned documents such as PTAs and licences are stored in Australia. The application and its database run in Singapore. The privacy policy sets out both.
Can amnesty surrenders be recorded anonymously?
Yes. Under s 87(2A) you don't have to record the name, address or licence of a person surrendering under the amnesty, and Gundesk doesn't ask for them.
We trade outside Victoria too. Will it work?
Victoria comes first. Deadlines, permit rules and categories are set per state rather than built in, so other states can follow. Tell us where you trade.
